After over a year of hard work to get this tricky hillside property designed and permitted, we’re well into our ambitious Silver Lake renovation and super excited about the progress! The original 1939 home was cramped and failed to capture the stellar views. Because of our tight budget, the challenge was to add-on as much as possible and open everything up, all while tying into the original foundation and framing. The only thing we liked about the original design was the Ranch style front exterior. We played off that to design a Mod Ranch facade inspired by Cliff May, including a pitched roof and triangular fixed windows.
Molds for the new foundation pour on the backside addition.

Greg checks out the new framing, while picturing how the upstairs will look.
The downstairs addition protruding off the original structure, looking out towards the reservoir.

The kitchen and living room framing going up.
The roof trusses getting installed.
And the facade coming together!
We’re looking forward to sharing more of the progress with you!
